About the Event
When Mandie first read Michael Oher’s book, I Beat the Odds (later made into the movie “The Blind Side”), it opened her eyes to the needs of foster kids aging out of the system, many of whom are vulnerable to trafficking. She has since focused on volunteering to eradicate trafficking with RI, The Place, The Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado, and the Diversion program.
She hopes to help others understand that human trafficking is real, and what they can do to address it. She is passionate about this, as it impacts the most vulnerable among us, those who do not have a support system to help them walk through the difficulties and traumas of life. She has a vision for housing and community mentorship, including teaching life skills and offering opportunities for Survivors. She wants to bring Christ’s love, joy, and hope to Mentees.
Mandie is a Colorado Native and an avid outdoor fan. Mandie has been married for 26 years and has two teenage sons.
